Modern Warfare 2 ‘Teaser Trailer’ Released

At the conclusion of the 9th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards, Activision previewed their first teaser trailer of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, the trailer, which shows no in game action was called by Robert Bowling; (Activision’s director of communications) as …”a tool for the fans to create hype”. Along with the tremendously successful Twitter fan-blog and the release of the trailer, the media and game fans have gone wild with speculation of all aspects of this eager-beaver game; by disecting every pixel and frame of the trailer…

In a vivid and suggestive montage the trailer shows images of explosive military action, possible locations and characters all of which are entangled in a mush of green and white noise. What we can see cleary however, from this very short but nail biting snippet, is that the storyline may include an attack on a airport by Russian fellows???

Regardless of the russians, the lift and the gunfire… the trailer gives no  defining indication of the plot or the eventual threat that precariously threatens the world, for all we know ‘we’ may have to fight aliens invading from space. However more likely that we have to fight against a more common enemy from earth; possibilities include… terrorists- in all shapes and forms, ‘rogue states’- most probably any country that isn’t called the US, Aviator wearing masterminds-of-death – like the last guy in MW, and all the usual villainous vermin that is available for a good bullet feasting, but in anycase. As fans we dont care much who stands in front of the other side of the gun, perhaps… we may even see the some from the old reappear in the next installment???

As for the storyline of MW2, it can be guaranteed that the game’s going to have a prophetic undertone, with a story of possible eventuality, mirrored against the world that we currently live in. Think iran like… think N.korea… that sort of thing… And as it has become customary to the COD series,  Modern Warfare 2 will feature the-now customary patchwork style story telling, giving the perspective of multiple charecters whom all surround the same core narrative, engrossing players into the story. So what can be concluded… is that this trailer was supposed to kick up dust… and it certainly has, but what can be assured is that modern warfare 2 is definitely going to be as exciting, refreshing and action packed as the previous.
